I am sitting across from a beautiful man that I have come to pen named Radley Cole. He has the role of the leading man in my book, The Allow Factor. I have never really spoken face to face with him before, and now I see why. He's intimidating. He's well coifed yet somehow rugged, handsome around every edge and he smells nice. I have to agree, I made a very good choice for the leading man.
OG: Hi Radley. Welcome.
Radley: Hello there.
(The old cliche that he had me at hello, oh yeah, very nice deep southern draw.)
OG: I really appreciate you taking time out to chat with me. I wanted to give my readers a little insight to your personality before the book is released. Maybe they can learn a bit about you. Is that ok with you? It won't take long.
Radley: Sure, sure. Why not. (He re-adjust himself in the over stuffed chair and makes himself comfortable. He feels me watching him, I'm sure, and tilts his head up where his eyes meet mine and smiles. Ahem. Nice smile.)
OG: Where are you from?
Radley: Southern Alabama
OG: A southern Boy, sweet. What do you do for living?
Radley: A lot of things.
OG: So entrepreneur?
Radley: You could say that.
OG: Do you have any hobbies
Radley: I like to hunt, fish, sports... you now all the typical guy stuff.
OG: Are you married?
Radley Hell no.
Radley: Yeah I gotta girl. Her name is Sadie.
OG: Tell me about Sadie.
Radley: She's alright. She's beautiful. For the most part she drives me crazy.
Radley: Yeah but in a good way, ya know, wild. Everybody likes to get wild every once in a while right? (Radley leans forward with his elbows on his knees) You like to get wild don't you Ms. Olivia? I can see you do. See it in your eyes. (he laughs)
(Sadie was right his blues eyes are intoxicating. I avoided his question and took a sip of my water to cool off my tongue before I asked another question, all the while keeping eye to eye contact.)
OG: So how long have you two been together?
Radley: Oh I don't know, sigh. (He leans back into the chair and stares into nowhere.) On and off for probably a few years I'd guess.
OG: Ever talk of marriage?
Radley: Got close once.
Radley: Yeah. A man like me has to be sure. Can't be rushing into those things.
OG: I see. Do you love her?
Radley: Maybe. (He's read the script. He knows I hate the word maybe. And there's that dimpled smile again. He's good, very good when he knows he's being bad.)
OG: Ok I asked for that one. Tell me what do you see in the further for you and Sadie? Marriage? Family?
Radley: I don't like looking too far ahead. I live one day at a time.
OG: So your saying there is no future?
Radley: She drives me wild! I'm crazy about her. I don't wanna live without her if that's what your asking.
OG: Fair enough. So tell me your greatest asset. The ladies can't see what I'm seeing here so you tell me what would be the one thing I am sure to mention when I describe you to them.
Radley: That's tough!
OG: Yeah? Why tough?
Radley: I have several great assets. (He chuckles with a boyish charm. He knows he smooth. He's drawing me in as he speaks.) My ass for one, my blue eyes, Lets see now... I workout so I'm fit. On a good day you can see a six pack in there. (He pulls the hem of his black t-shirt up past the nipples on his chest and shows me, OMG, he's right. And today was a good day) I'm six foot tall (He continues with a southern drawl) I like to have fun, lots and lots of sex of course, and... (he hesitated on this one) I'm a good guy.
OG: A good guy?
Radley: Of course. Always.
OG: One last thought before we close? Anything else you want to add to that lineup? (I laughed. What a list! Hope I can remember all them!)
(He scratched his head then slicked back his hair, exhaled, then leaned forward with his elbows on his knees again. His look was charming, a little daring, but not serious. Then the dimples formed within the corners of his mouth. What came next caught me by surprise.)
Radley: Yeah, let me buy you breakfast. It's your favorite meal right?
